Fighting Debt

I may not be the biggest fan of the policy of invading Iraq, but at least the troops should be well treated. At least something was learned from Vietnam, or was it? Unfortunately, many of the wounded, some suffering traumatic brain Injuries, as described Here and Here, are given the shaft by the same government for which they were fighting. Here's a few articles concerning their treatment and problems when returning home:

Wounded US soldiers fighting off military debts: report.

GAO Says Government Pesters Wounded Soldiers Over Debts.

Report: Wounded soldiers left in debt.

Of course, the government says that they will put a stop to such things, but it just goes to show that these soldiers are considered nothing but numbers by the massive state bureaucracy. For this reason, and many others such as the lack of Proper Equipment, I would never fight for a government.

Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics Have Nothing On The Bush Administration

Lies, damn lies & George W. Bush excerpt:

No doubt about it. George W. Bush's lying, rotten, putrid, soulless destruction of a once-great nation called America is now open for all to see.

Bush is not just a liar. He's a serial liar who avoids truth at all costs because facts don't' support his perverted, twisted view of the world. Truth exposes his corrupt administration and lays bare his many crimes against the American people and the Constitution of the United States.

Impeachment? Nah. Too good for this lowlife. Arrest the son-of-a-bitch, lead him from the White House in chains, parade him down Pennsylvania Avenue and then lock him in stocks on the Washington Mall so everyone can see what happens when anyone thinks they are above the law of the land.

Pretty well sums it up. Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics have nothing on the Bush Administration

A BBC documentary called The Insurgency makes the following point:

Cases of US heavy handedness or the abuse in Abu Ghraib have provided fertile ground for the insurgents to recruit from.

"A number of the insurgents keep saying to me that this is what I was trained for," journalist Michael Ware explained to us.

"They say the next generation is going to be worse than we've ever been. And it's in this way that it's al-Qaeda that are one of the main beneficiaries of this war.

"The Bush administration is the midwife to the next generation of al-Qaeda. And that's a generation that is principally being shaped by Zarqawi," Mr Ware said.

So we know whom to thank.
